Candidates must hold a Diploma at MQF Level 4 or equivalent, or Matriculation certificate with 2 A-levels and 3 Intermediates, or Matsec certificates with 4 passes at Grade 5 or better, or relevant work experience, and be aged 21+; non-native English speakers need CEFR or IELTS 5.5.

Apply after you finish – within 12 months of completing the course, online through the Get Qualified portal using your e-ID. You can make up to 4 applications in any 5 years.

Have these ready to upload

Acceptance letter – from the college, showing the start date
Invoices and proof of payment – for every payment you made
Certificate or transcript – showing you completed the course
Declaration that the costs aren't reimbursed – e.g. by your employer
De minimis declaration – only if the course relates to your own business or self-employment

After approval

You'll get a Tax Credit Certificate in the portal. Check whether the credit already shows on your income tax statement; if not, send the Commissioner for Revenue an adjustment form and the RA10 form with copies of the certificates. Unused credit can be carried forward for up to 15 years.
