How much does Get Qualified give back?
Get Qualified gives back 70% of the fee you pay for an eligible course, as a credit against your income tax. The amount is capped by the course's MQF level, from €1,500 at level 3 to €170 per ECTS at Master's level, with no cap on a full doctorate.
Checked against the official rules on 14 October 2026.
The cap for each level
| MQF level | Most you can get back |
|---|---|
| MQF 3 | €1,500 |
| MQF 4 | €2,500 |
| MQF 5 | €1,000 + €50 per ECTS |
| MQF 6 | €75 per ECTS |
| MQF 7 | €170 per ECTS |
| MQF 8 | No cap for a full doctorate; otherwise €170 per ECTS |
| No MQF level | €2,500 |
Courses at levels 5 to 8 need at least 5 ECTS. You get 70% of the fee or the cap, whichever is lower.

"You pay" is the fee less the tax credit, as on every course page. The attainment bonus is paid only once you finish, so it's shown on its own.
Attainment bonus
| Qualification | Bonus on top of the credit |
|---|---|
| STEM bachelor's degree (MQF 6) | €3,000 |
| Master's degree | €3,000, or €5,000 for a STEM Master's |

Questions
- Is Get Qualified paid in cash?
- No. It is a tax credit: it reduces the income tax you pay. From 2026 it is included in your Income Tax Statement, and any part you can't use in one year carries forward for up to 15 years.
- What if the college doesn't publish the course's ECTS?
- At levels 5 to 8 the cap depends on the ECTS, so ask the college. Until then, this site shows the most you could get back (70% of the fee) and marks it "up to".
- Which costs count?
- Registration and tuition fees you paid yourself. Keep every receipt: you upload them when you apply.
- Can I claim Get Qualified and MySkills for the same course?
- No. You use one scheme per course, and a course paid through MySkills can't also be claimed under Get Qualified.
