Can the self-employed use MySkills?
No – MySkills is for people who are employed, unemployed or not working, and the self-employed are excluded. If you're self-employed, use Get Qualified: it gives back 70% of the fee as a tax credit, capped by the course's level.

Questions
- I'm employed and also self-employed part-time. Can I use MySkills?
- The rules don't say clearly. Ask Jobsplus's Training Services Unit (+356 2220 1610) before you enrol.
- Does Get Qualified pay the self-employed in cash?
- No. It reduces the income tax you pay, over up to 15 years, so it works best when you have tax to pay.
- My company wants to train me. Is there funding?
- Employers training their staff can apply to Jobsplus's Investing in Skills scheme, which covers 50–70% of the training cost depending on business size.
