Get Qualified
Pay for an eligible course yourself and get 70% of the fee back as a tax credit, up to a cap that depends on the course level.
How much you get back
The credit is 70% of the course fee, but never more than the cap for the course's MQF level:
| MQF level | Maximum credit |
|---|---|
| Level 3 (VET) | €1,500 |
| Level 4 (VET) | €2,500 |
| Level 5 | €1,000 + €50 per ECTS |
| Level 6 | €75 per ECTS |
| Level 7 | €170 per ECTS |
| Level 8 | No cap for a full doctorate; otherwise €170 per ECTS |
| Industry certification (not MQF) | €2,500 |
Courses at levels 5 to 8 need at least 5 ECTS. Example: a level 6 award of 15 ECTS costing €2,600 is capped at 15 × €75 = €1,125, which is less than 70% of the fee (€1,820).
Attainment bonus
Some qualifications earn an extra bonus on top of the credit, paid in years 3 and 4:
- STEM bachelor's degree (level 6): €3,000
- Master's degree: €3,000, or €5,000 for a STEM master's
- Doctorate: €10,000
